The Voice Season 24 finalist Jacquie Roar has announced her new single, “Lie with You”, a sultry country duet featuring fellow Season 24 contestant, Stee. Set for release on 28 August at midnight, the mid tempo track explores the tension between temptation and consequence, focusing on the attraction and fantasy surrounding a relationship that crosses a line. Rather than approaching infidelity from a judgemental perspective, the song captures the internal conflict of knowing something is wrong while still feeling drawn towards it. Nashville songwriters collaborate on “Lie with You” Roar co wrote the single alongside a team of Nashville songwriting talent. The collaborators include Jordan Gray, a Grammy Award winning songwriter behind “Amen”, performed by Shaboozey and Jelly Roll, and Steve Fee, who co wrote Max McNown’s No. 1 “A Lot More Free”. Also involved are Canadian born, Nashville based songwriter Jesse Slack, who scored a No. 1 with Owen Riegling’s “Moonshines”, and producer and songwriter Jason Mater. Stee joins Jacquie Roar Roar enlisted her friend and fellow The Voice Season 24 artist Stee to provide his vocals on the track. The pair first met while competing on the hit television series. Roar progressed to the Season 24 finale, ultimately finishing in fourth place. Their reunion on “Lie with You” creates a duet built around chemistry and tension, with the two vocalists portraying the temptation at the centre of the song. The lyrics reinforce the track’s provocative theme, depicting two people contemplating what could happen if they give in to their attraction, featuring lyrics such as: “Underneath the covers, baby let’s discover what two hearts on fire can do”
