These tracks give listeners an early glimpse of Dawson’s timeless country sound shaped by the artists and traditions he grew up on. A traditional sound with modern appeal Blending timeless country influences with a fresh edge, Dawson has quickly become one of Nashville’s most talked-about emerging artists. His smooth vocals, sharp guitar work, and classic country storytelling have built a fast-growing audience. “Colton has a voice and presence that immediately grabs your attention,” said WME’s Barry Jeffrey. “There’s an authenticity to what he does that feels deeply rooted in country music while still connecting with a new generation of fans. We’re excited to be part of what’s ahead.” “Signing with WME is a huge milestone for me,” said Dawson. “I grew up loving country music and dreaming about playing these kinds of stages. To now have a team that believes in what I’m building means the world. Here, Dawson received two standing ovations performing with only his guitar. His momentum has continued to build through standout opening performances for artists including Lainey Wilson, Cole Swindell, Braxton Keith, Jake Worthington, and Josh Turner. Dawson pairs silky vocals and honest songwriting with a timeless sound that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly current. He has also collaborated with GRAMMY Award-winning producer Chuck Ainlay and acclaimed songwriter Roger Springer on his forthcoming debut project.

Dust and Grace release remix and video for “Love Doesn’t Live Here”

Pittsburgh-based country music project Dust and Grace has released the radio remix of its heartfelt ballad “Love Doesn’t Live Here”, alongside an official music video. The remix is available on all major streaming platforms, with the accompanying video premiering on YouTube and social media. “Love Doesn’t Live Here” explores heartbreak and healing Written by Michael Stover, “Love Doesn’t Live Here” is an emotional country ballad that reflects on the quiet aftermath of a relationship coming to an end. Rather than focusing on conflict, the song explores acceptance, healing and the realisation that sometimes love simply fades, leaving memories behind. New radio remix adds contemporary country sound The newly released radio remix builds on the original recording with richer keyboard arrangements, fuller contemporary country production and a soaring harmony guitar solo. While introducing a more polished sound aimed at country radio audiences, the remix retains the intimate storytelling that sits at the heart of the song. Official music video brings the story to life The accompanying music video uses cinematic imagery to reinforce the song’s emotional message. Centred around an empty family home, the video portrays a place that once witnessed love and happiness before becoming a symbol of loss, remembrance and moving forward. The visual storytelling mirrors the themes explored throughout the song, adding another layer of emotional depth. Dust and Grace continues to build momentum The release follows a series of achievements for Dust and Grace within the independent country music scene. The project has previously earned a No. 1 Independent Music Network Country single, two Top 10 Amazon Music Country Gospel hits, two Top 15 CDX Nashville chart singles and two UK iTunes Country Chart hits. Blast from the past: Robert Plant

The Americana Music Association has announced that Robert Plant will receive its prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the 25th Annual Americana Honors & Awards. The ceremony will take place on Wednesday, 16 September, at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium, recognising Plant’s enduring contribution to Americana and American roots music. Robert Plant’s passion for Americana Although best known as the iconic lead singer of Led Zeppelin, Plant has spent decades championing roots music, embracing influences that span blues, folk, gospel, country and Americana. His musical curiosity has seen him continually explore American roots traditions, earning widespread respect as both an interpreter and advocate of the genre. Raising Sand helped bring Americana to a wider audience One of the defining moments in Plant’s Americana journey came with the release of Raising Sand, his Grammy Award-winning collaboration with Alison Krauss and producer T Bone Burnett. The critically acclaimed album introduced millions of listeners to the richness of Americana music and played a significant role in raising the genre’s profile. Its success also helped pave the way for the Recording Academy to establish the Best Americana Album category at the Grammy Awards. Plant later reunited with Krauss for Raise the Roof, while continuing to collaborate with leading Americana artists including Patty Griffin and Buddy Miller on “Band of Joy”. Continuing to champion roots music More recently, Plant has continued his exploration of Americana with “Saving Grace” and the follow-up EP “Saving Grace: All That Glitters…”, recorded alongside singer Suzi Dian and a group of musicians from near his home on the Welsh borders. The projects feature interpretations of songs by acclaimed Americana and folk artists including Gillian Welch, Memphis Minnie, Blind Willie Johnson, Martha Scanlan and Sarah Siskind among others. Americana Music Association celebrates Robert Plant The Lifetime Achievement Award recognises Plant’s decades-long commitment to preserving and promoting American roots music alongside his remarkable career as one of rock music’s most influential vocalists. Jed Hilly, Executive Director of the Americana Music Association, said: “Robert Plant’s relationship with Americana music extends far beyond influence—it is one of genuine passion, stewardship and artistic curiosity. “His willingness to immerse himself in the traditions of blues, folk, country and gospel, while continuing to push their boundaries, has expanded the audience for Americana around the world. “Few artists have done more to honor the music’s past while helping shape its future. We are thrilled to recognize his extraordinary contributions with the Americana Music Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award.” As Robert Plant prepares to recieve this recognition, Maverick Country takes a look back at his career so far: Few artists have enjoyed a career as diverse, influential and enduring as Robert Plant. Best known as the unmistakable voice of Led Zeppelin, Plant has spent more than five decades pushing musical boundaries, evolving from one of rock’s greatest frontmen into one of the most respected champions of blues, folk, country and Americana. Born in West Bromwich, England, in 1948, Plant developed an early fascination with American blues, inspired by artists including Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf and Skip James. Those influences would shape his musical identity long before he found worldwide fame alongside Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and John Bonham in Led Zeppelin. During the 1970s, Led Zeppelin became one of the biggest rock bands in history, selling hundreds of millions of records worldwide. Albums such as Led Zeppelin IV, Physical Graffiti and Houses of the Holy helped redefine rock music, while songs including Stairway to Heaven, Kashmir and Whole Lotta Love cemented Plant’s reputation as one of the greatest vocalists of all time. Following the death of drummer John Bonham in 1980, Plant resisted attempts to recreate Led Zeppelin’s success, instead embarking on a solo career built around artistic exploration rather than commercial expectation. Over the following decades, he embraced influences from world music, African rhythms, Celtic folk and traditional American roots music, continually reinventing himself while earning widespread critical acclaim. That spirit of musical curiosity ultimately led Plant towards Americana, where he found another creative home. His landmark collaboration with Alison Krauss on the 2007 album “Raising Sand”, produced by T Bone Burnett, proved to be one of the defining releases of the modern Americana movement. The Grammy Award-winning album blended country, folk, blues and bluegrass into a timeless collection that introduced millions of listeners to the genre and remains one of the most influential Americana releases of the 21st century.

Gareth Dunlop new single "Freewheeling" maverick-country.com

Gareth Dunlop returns with “Freewheeling”

Belfast-born singer, songwriter, and producer Gareth Dunlop returns on July 31st with his tender and deeply personal new single, “Freewheeling”. The song is about memory, growing older, and the parts of ourselves we never quite leave behind. “Freewheeling” finds Dunlop at his most reflective, reaching back into childhood to make sense of who he’s become. The single was born from an ordinary afternoon that turned into something much bigger. What started as nostalgia became a meditation on identity, how the distance between who we were and who we are now can feel enormous, even as something essential stays exactly the same underneath. Reflecting on childhood memories Speaking on the track, Gareth said, “I wrote Freewheeling after spending a day driving around my old neighbourhood. I had all these memories of my childhood come racing back. The differences between my life then and now felt massive. Looking back, I probably thought I’d have it all worked out by now. In a lot of ways, I’m still making it up as I go. “I wanted to write about that feeling. How so much around me has changed, but there are parts of me that are still on those streets without a care in the world. The kid recording the top 40 on his Hi-Fi, cycling around the streets on his BMX and watching action movies with his dad is still in there. I think that’s true for a lot of us. We grow older, take on more responsibility, and the world keeps changing. Deep down, we never really stop carrying the people we used to be” It’s a song about permanence hiding inside change. It’s about the idea that growing older doesn’t mean growing into someone new, but learning to carry every version of yourself at once. That sense of double vision, the adult and the child occupying the same body, runs through every corner of the song. Dunlop paints his younger self in vivid, specific detail: a boy shaped by ’80s action heroes and taping the charts off the radio, blissfully unaware of the responsibilities waiting for him down the road. Against that innocence, he sets the disorientation of adulthood, the strange, almost dizzying realisation that the kid who once had the whole world figured out is now the one trying to keep the lights on. And yet, as the song’s soaring, repeated refrain insists, nothing essential has really changed at all. Underneath it all, he’s still that same boy, still freewheeling. One heartfelt song at a time “Freewheeling” arrives as the latest chapter in what has become one of the most creative periods of Dunlop’s career. Since the release of his acclaimed third album, “Welcome To The House Of I Don’t Know”, Dunlop hasn’t slowed down for a moment. He has delivered a steady stream of music that has deepened and expanded his emotional palette. He followed the album with standalone singles “Goodbye All Over Again” and “Worlds”. This year alone has already brought two further releases: “Find Myself” and the raw, aching “Wish I Couldn’t Feel A Thing”. The latter marked a striking creative turn for Dunlop, pulling him into alt-R&B territory. The song’s unflinching honesty about grief and the strange comfort of numbness and its willingness to sit inside heartbreak rather than resolve it. “Freewheeling” feels like a natural evolution from that moment. It trades the aching grief of “Wish I Couldn’t Feel A Thing” for something gentler and more affectionate. Together, the recent run of singles paints a portrait of an artist unafraid to sit inside difficult, tender emotions and translate them into songs that feel universal. Dunlop will bring “Freewheeling” and the rest of his catalogue to audiences across the UK and Ireland this year. It begins with an intimate single-promotion show in his hometown before joining Canadian favourites Crash Test Dummies for an extensive co-headline run. With “Freewheeling”, Dunlop adds another chapter to a body of work that keeps returning to the same central question: how do we hold onto who we were, while becoming who we’re meant to be? It’s a question he seems determined to keep asking, one heartfelt song at a time. Upcoming Live Shows 1st August — Around The Tabletop, EastSide Arts, Belfast, UK (single promotion) 1st October — Wylam Brewery Tap, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK 2nd October — Glasgow, UK (with Crash Test Dummies) 3rd October — Edinburgh, UK (with Crash Test Dummies) 4th October — Morecambe, UK (with Crash Test Dummies) 7th October — Belfast, UK (with Crash Test Dummies) 8th October — Vicar Street, Dublin, Ireland 9th October — Liverpool, UK (with Crash Test Dummies) 10th October — Manchester, UK (with Crash Test Dummies) 11th October — Leeds, UK (with Crash Test Dummies) 12th October — Norwich, UK (with Crash Test Dummies) 14th October — Islington Assembly Hall, London, UK 15th October — Trinity Centre, Bristol, UK 16th October — O2 Academy Oxford, Oxford, UK 18th October — The Brook, Southampton, UK

Megan Moroney has unveiled her debut fragrance, Calliope. maverick-country.com

Megan Moroney launches debut fragrance

Megan Moroney has unveiled her debut fragrance, Calliope, marking her first venture into the beauty industry. Created in partnership with Scent Beauty, Inc., the perfume was announced as Moroney’s highly anticipated Cloud 9 Tour arrived in New York City, giving fans an early look at the singer’s latest creative project. Calliope draws inspiration from Greek mythology and Japanese art Named after Calliope, the Greek muse of epic poetry whose name means “beautiful-voiced”, the fragrance reflects Moroney’s reputation for heartfelt songwriting and emotional honesty. The perfume is presented in a heart-shaped bottle, while its design is also inspired by the Japanese art of kintsugi, the centuries-old practice of repairing broken pottery with gold or silver to celebrate, rather than conceal, its imperfections. Moroney said: “I’ve spent the last year and a half hand crafting Calliope, my debut fragrance. The heart-shaped bottle felt very me, of course. But beyond the heart, it’s inspired by the Japanese art of kintsugi—the centuries-old practice of repairing broken pottery with gold or silver, embracing its’ cracks rather than hiding them. “It’s a reminder that our imperfections and experiences become part of what makes us unique. For me, my songs are sometimes the most broken pieces reshaped into something that I’ve seen heal me and so many of you. “The fragrance itself is fresh, effortless, and meant to be an everyday signature. On the back of the bottle, I added the handwritten lyrics ‘You Shine’ because I truly believe the world can be hard on beautiful things. “The most beautiful things come from broken pieces, and I hope this fragrance serves as a reminder that your light shines even brighter because of everything you’ve been through.” Scent Beauty celebrates partnership with Megan Moroney Steve Mormoris, Chief Executive Officer of Scent Beauty, Inc., said: “With Calliope, we sought to capture a fragrance that feels personal, aspirational and unmistakably Megan. “As an influential break-out artist and influencer of her generation, Scent Beauty was thrilled to partner with Moroney to develop her signature fragrance.” Calliope is available in four formats, including a 100ml bottle, a 30ml bottle, a 10ml travel size and a body mist. The fragrance is available now through FragrancebyMeganMoroney.com and ScentBeauty.com before arriving in selected US retailers, including Walmart, JCPenney, CVS and Urban Outfitters, on 15 August. Fans in the UK will be able to purchase Calliope exclusively through Superdrug from 1 September.

Boots, Hats and Denim: The Evolution of Country Music Fashion. maverick-country.com

Boots, Hats and Denim: The Evolution of Country Music Fashion

Country music has always been about more than the songs. Long before artists stepped on stage, their clothes often told audiences exactly who they were. From rhinestone covered suits to worn denim and handcrafted cowboy boots, fashion has become as much a part of country music’s identity as steel guitars and heartfelt storytelling. Few genres have embraced style quite like country. While trends have come and gone, the spirit behind country fashion has remained remarkably consistent, rooted in authenticity, practicality and individuality. From the ranch to the Grand Ole Opry The earliest country performers dressed much like the people they represented. Western shirts, denim jeans, leather boots and broad brimmed hats were everyday clothing for ranchers and farmers across America. As country music grew in popularity during the 1940s and 1950s, performers began adding a little more flair to their stage wardrobes. No one influenced country fashion more than tailor Nudie Cohn. His extravagant rhinestone suits, embroidered jackets and elaborate cowboy shirts became synonymous with stars including Hank Williams, Porter Wagoner, Gram Parsons and later Elvis Presley. The famous “Nudie suit” transformed Western clothing into stage wear, proving that country artists could be both glamorous and unmistakably authentic. The cowboy hat never goes out of style If one item defines country fashion, it is undoubtedly the cowboy hat. Brands such as Stetson have spent more than 150 years producing hats that have become cultural icons. Whether worn by George Strait, Alan Jackson or Cody Johnson, the cowboy hat continues to symbolise independence, hard work and pride in country traditions. Today’s artists have adapted the look to suit their personalities. Some favour classic felt hats, while others opt for straw styles during the summer festival season. Regardless of the material, the cowboy hat remains one of country music’s most recognisable symbols. Denim remains country’s uniform Denim has always been at the heart of country fashion. Wrangler, in particular, has enjoyed a decades long association with the genre. Originally designed for cowboys and rodeo riders, its jeans became staples for artists both on and off stage. Today, Wrangler sits comfortably alongside premium brands, reflecting country music’s ability to balance heritage with modern style. Meanwhile, Ariat has become one of the fastest growing names in Western apparel, producing boots, shirts and outerwear that combine traditional craftsmanship with contemporary comfort. The brand has found favour among everyone from working ranchers to arena headliners. Luxury bootmaker Lucchese continues to represent the premium end of the market, with handcrafted boots worn by countless country stars. Their enduring popularity demonstrates that quality craftsmanship remains highly valued within country culture. Country fashion enters the mainstream In recent years, country fashion has experienced a remarkable resurgence. The popularity of artists such as Lainey Wilson, Luke Combs, Cody Johnson and Megan Moroney has introduced Western style to a new generation, while television series including Yellowstonehave fuelled global demand for cowboy boots, denim jackets and Western shirts. Festivals such as C2C: Country to Country, The Long Road and countless local country events across the UK now see thousands of fans embracing the look. Cowboy boots have become festival essentials, denim is everywhere, and hats are no longer reserved for the American West. Perhaps that is why country fashion has endured for so long. It is not about chasing trends or designer labels. It is about expressing a lifestyle built on freedom, resilience and authenticity. Whether wearing a vintage Nudie suit under the spotlight or a well worn pair of boots at a summer festival, country fans continue to prove that great style, much like great music, never goes out of fashion.

Brantley Gilbert announces added tour dates maverick-country.com

Brantley Gilbert extends headlining tour

As he readies the release of his eighth studio album “SINS OF THE FATHER” for Friday, July 24, multi-Platinum trailblazer Brantley Gilbert announces additional tour stops, extending his headlining Real American Tour through November 2026. With direct support from John Morgan, along with Jay Webb and Atlus on select dates, the newly announced dates include stops in Boston, Savannah, Cincinnati, Ohio, Biloxi and more. General on sale begins Friday, July 17 at 10am local time at BrantleyGilbert.com. Fan club members in the Gold & Silver tiers began purchasing tickets today from 10am local time and Bronze can begin purchasing tickets Wednesday, July 15 at 10am local time. Pre-sales will run through Thursday, July 16 at 10pm local time. On Father’s Day, Gilbert released two new tracks from his forthcoming album: title track “SINS OF THE FATHER” and “GOOD OL’ BOYS,” which followed lead single “GOOD DAMN,” currently climbing the charts at Country radio. Gilbert shares deeply personal stories No stranger to pushing country’s evolutionary curve, “SINS OF THE FATHER” goes beyond sonic innovation, to confront the ugly truth. Fusing heartfelt country values with explosive energy and barbed-wire R&B swagger, he describes the project as a deeply personal playlist, once again ready to meet fans where they are. “As long as there’s a box in country music, I know where I belong,” the Georgia-born hitmaker says. “And that’s right on the outside of it. All of my albums are a chapter of my life and this one’s no different. I don’t have skeletons in the closet. If there’s any piece of my story that could help somebody, I’m cheating them if I keep it to myself.” Co-produced with rock-schooled collaborator Brock Berryhill, “SINS OF THE FATHER” marks some of the hardest-hitting work of Gilbert’s career, yet the diesel-fueled two-lane trap he helped pioneer is never far away. Bottomless distortion and pounding drums join melodic, gravel-road grooves, while the bare bones of country soul turn painful realities into three-chords-and-the-truth. He also launched Real American Beer Zero after becoming an investor and equity partner of Real American Beer (RAB). RAB Zero is the company’s first non-alcoholic beer with $1 per case sold of RAB Zero going to the USO in addition to ongoing donations tied directly to sales, supporting active-duty service members and their families.
