Staffordshire based Chloë Chadwick recorded her latest EP at Hope Mill Studios, Manchester. The acoustic chugging guitar in ‘Rattling Bones’ opens the EP. When Chadwick’s vocals enter there’s an edge to them, a feisty country number with a bluesy undertone ensues. The Electric guitar helping it to build perfectly. ‘Temper Gene’ follows and it starts in stark contrast, stripped back but again as the song progresses Chadwick allows it to build. It’s got a strong production with draws the best out of her vocals, framing them well. ‘Make Up 4 Lost Time’ boasts some effective backing vocals. Her version of ‘Have You Ever Seen The Rain’ really shows off her vocal ability as she freely belts out that last chorus. The piano version of ‘Soulmate’ is packed with emotion and really tugs on the heartstrings, it’s really beautiful.
