Phil Vassar Releases New Single “I Don’t Know What It Means”
Multi-platinum singer-songwriter Phil Vassar — long celebrated for his heartfelt storytelling and chart-topping country hits — will release his new single, “I Don’t Know What It Means,” on Friday, August 22.
Promising to be one of the most personal and profound songs of his career, “I Don’t Know What It Means” was born from a life-altering experience — Phil died and came back to life.
While it’s still difficult for him to talk about the moment itself, he did what he’s always done best: he wrote through it.
Co-written alongside Dean Sams of Lonestar (who also produced the track) and Marty Dodson, “I Don’t Know What It Means” is a raw, honest, and soul-searching reflection on mortality, mystery, and the things we can’t quite explain.
With his signature piano-driven melodies and emotionally charged vocals, Phil transforms this extraordinary experience into a universal story about what it means to truly live.
