Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion is an annual music festival celebrating the rich musical heritage of Bristol, Tennessee and Virginia, recognised as the birthplace of country music. Established in 2001, the event takes place throughout historic Downtown Bristol, bringing live music into the heart of the community and across the Tennessee and Virginia state line.

At the heart of the festival is the legacy of the historic 1927 Bristol Sessions and the enormous influence those recordings have had on country music and the wider musical landscape. Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion showcases Appalachian roots music and beyond, connecting the region’s musical history with the artists and sounds continuing that tradition today.
The festival is presented by the Birthplace of Country Music, a nonprofit organisation dedicated to celebrating and preserving Bristol’s important place in music history. Alongside its live performances, the event encourages audiences to explore the city and its musical heritage while experiencing a festival spread throughout the historic downtown area.
