Kashus Culpepper – “Act I”

Kashus Culpepper is an American singer-songwriter and one of country music’s most compelling emerging voices.

Born and raised in Alexander City, Alabama, Culpepper’s journey to music was unconventional: he served in the US Navy, where he taught himself guitar during downtime on deployment, before returning to the United States and playing local bars along the Gulf Coast.

His early singles, including the viral After Me?, highlighted a rich vocal presence and a storytelling style that draws deeply from Southern musical traditions. Critics and peers have praised his blend of country with soul, blues, folk and southern rock, a synthesis he refers to as his own “Southern sound.” That mix reflects not just influences but lived experience — from church-rooted singing to life as a working musician.

Signed to Big Loud Records, Culpepper has quickly built momentum, with industry figures and artists alike noting his raw authenticity and genre-defying range. Act I, his debut album released in January 2026, stands as a testament to his diverse roots and narrative ambition, offering listeners a full encounter with his musical identity and his outlook on life, love and resilience.
