Kaity Rae releases second EP: THIS TIME AROUND

KAITY RAE is an artist we’ve already featured on our site, when she was invited to showcase at Folkstock’s emerging talent shows at The Islington as part of London Folk and Roots Festival last year. Their label arm Folkstock Records is delighted to return to the venue to release a second EP from Kaity who got a great reaction from the appreciative standing room only audience last November.

Still only 18, Kaity has been with the label since 2014, and has received special mentions from The Sunday Times and The Telegraph for her tracks on the last three compilations put out by the label and produced by Lauren Deakin Davies. Kaity’s second EP is the follow up to her well loved debut Spark, which came out in November 2014, with the closing track garnering praise from The Shires’ Ben Earle who said he ‘loved’ the track It Is.

This Time Around is a four track EP with a ‘new country’ flavour.  The just released opening track, Before I Knew,  has been an instant hit with the BBC stations, especially the specialist Country shows as well as the independent radio shows and has been played three weeks in a row by country hero Baylen Leonard, who was effusive about the young artist on his Sat evening Front Porch show on Amazing Radio. Kaity is continuing to follow her heart into the Americana/UK Country scene following an inspiring two week songwriting workshop in Nashvile earlier this year and winning a place on the PRS for Music songwriting session at the Americana Association UK Awards.

10th June sees Kaity Rae back at The Islington, for a free entry EP launch with some of her talented professional friends, namely Conor Coughlan and Emma McGrath. Conor was recently featured in a session by Baylen Leonard at Amazing Radio and Emma won the PRS for Music Lynsey de Paul award last summer, so a superb evening of bright young talent has been lined up.

The EP was recorded at Cream Room Sound Productions and engineered by Martin Lumsden and produced by John Dines.

It will be available from FolkstockRecords.com and Kaity’s website as well as at the launch on the 10th June as well as spotify, itunes and the usual digital outlets.

To reserve a place for this free entry event please email folkstock@hotmail.co.uk.
