The release follows a period of personal growth for Dasha, who has spoken openly about learning to ignore criticism surrounding her voice, style and stage performances.

Speaking about the new single, Dasha said: “‘Memo’ lets the female perspective take up space without apologising for it. It was written with three of the most successful and prolific songwriters of all time, Shane McAnally, Ashley Gorley and Ben Johnson.

“Getting to write with people on that level is so exciting for me, and I walked into that room knowing exactly who I am as an artist. We all brought something different to the table, and I think that’s what made this song feel so authentic.”

Breakout success continues

Dasha’s career has continued to gather momentum since the release of her breakthrough hit, “Austin (Boots Stopped Workin’)”.

The single became one of the most-streamed country songs of 2024, earned Female Song of the Year at the People’s Choice Country Awards and secured Dasha a place in Spotify’s Billions Club just two years after its release. She became only the second solo female country artist to reach the milestone, following Taylor Swift.
