Country singer-songwriter Katie Fee has released her new single, “Nothing Right”, a laid-back anthem that encourages listeners to step away from the pressures of everyday life and embrace the simple pleasures of summer.
Originally from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Katie Fee grew up listening to country artists including Shania Twain, Faith Hill and Deana Carter, influences that helped shape her musical style from an early age.
In 2017, she relocated to Nashville to pursue a career in country music, studying music business at Belmont University while becoming part of the city’s renowned songwriting community.
Katie said: “Nothing Right’ is a reminder that we all deserve to slow down every once in a while.
“Life moves so fast and sometimes the best thing we can do is take a break, enjoy the people we’re with, and appreciate the little moments. I hope this song makes people want to pack up the car and disconnect for a while.”
Fee released her debut EP, “Sunsets and Fireworks”, in July 2021 before following it with her first full-length album, “Runaway Heart”, in October 2023.
The album received positive reviews and earned a nomination for Country Female Album of the Year at the 10th Annual Josie Music Awards.
Her passion for music has taken her across the United States, performing everywhere from South Carolina and Minnesota to the Wild West Songwriters’ Festival in Deadwood, South Dakota, while continuing to grow a loyal fanbase through her authentic songwriting.
Most recently, Fee released her EP “Whiskey & Sunsets” in February 2026.
Review
Katie Fee’s Nothing Right is a breezy slice of contemporary country that perfectly captures the carefree spirit of summer. Built around warm acoustic guitars, bright production and an easy-going groove, the song invites listeners to leave their worries behind and embrace life’s simpler pleasures. Fee delivers the lyrics with a relaxed confidence that feels both sincere and engaging, while the memorable chorus lingers long after the final note. Rather than relying on grand gestures, Nothing Right succeeds through its relatable storytelling and feel-good charm. It’s an uplifting soundtrack for beach days, road trips and anyone in need of a well-earned escape.
