Morgan Wallen unveils new track ‘Love Somebody’
Fresh off the back of his third studio album ‘One Thing At A Time’ achieving an incredible 7x Platinum certification from the RIAA, country superstar Morgan Wallen is offering fans a glimpse into his next musical chapter. Wallen has just dropped ‘Love Somebody,’ the first single from his highly anticipated upcoming project.
“‘Love Somebody’ is a bit of a new direction both lyrically and sonically,” Wallen explained. “I wanted to try something different, both in terms of the message and how the song sounds, and we took inspiration from some Latin-leaning influences. I’m really excited about this track and pumped that it’s finally out there.”
Written by an all-star team including Wallen himself, alongside John Byron, Ashley Gorley, Jacob Kasher Hindlin, Elof Loelv, and Ryan Vojtesak, the song was produced by Joey Moi and Charlie Handsome, the duo behind Wallen’s previous albums ‘Dangerous: The Double Album’ and ‘One Thing At A Time’. Set against a vibrant, neon-lit backdrop, ‘Love Somebody’ presents a raw and honest take on the challenges of finding genuine connection in a world obsessed with fame and fortune.
With lyrics like:
“I just wanna love somebody
Who won’t leave a hole in my heart
I just wanna love somebody
That don’t want me fallin’ apart,”
Wallen opens up about his desire for authenticity and lasting love, contrasting the fleeting, materialistic relationships often found in the spotlight.
The song comes on the heels of Wallen’s continued chart-topping success, including his summer anthem ‘I Had Some Help,’ featuring Post Malone, and his latest single, ‘Lies, Lies, Lies.’ Wallen first teased ‘Love Somebody’ during his sold-out show at London’s BST Hyde Park on 4th July, part of his European leg of the ‘One Night At A Time 2024 Tour’. Fans got another taste when he announced the track’s official release during his historic, back-to-back hometown performances at Neyland Stadium, University of Tennessee, where he broke records, surpassing The Jackson 5 with 156,161 attendees across two nights.
This weekend, Wallen will wrap up his epic ‘One Night At A Time’ tour with two consecutive nights at Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium (18th-19th October). The tour, spanning two years, covered 87 shows across 10 countries, 51 stadiums, as well as arenas and festivals. It was named the 2023 Billboard and Pollstar Country Tour of the Year, cementing Wallen’s place at the forefront of country music’s global landscape.
