Tanjeryne – “God’s Problem”

Tanjeryne is a singer-songwriter from Edmonton, Canada. In 2024, she released her debut studio album, Stardust & Lost Things, and now she’s back with a brand new song, God’s Problem.

The song will form part of her second album, Leather & Denim. Tanjeryne says she is inspired by vocalist such as Norah Jones, Lana Del Ray and Jewel. She is known for performing in venues across Edmonton and throughout Alberta and British Columbia.

For God’s Problem, she has collaborated with The Western Thistles, made up of duo Mark Boer and Bri Huot-Boer.

Tanjeryne says: “‘God’s Problem’ is a tune I wrote that challenges gender expectations in the home, particularly regarding women.

“I wrote it from a place of feeling like I was falling short in my duties as a good partner and the woman of the house. The song is a bit of a resistance to the unspoken expectations that are placed on women in the home, while embracing the fact that we like to get in trouble, play, and be free of responsibilities, too.

“Bri’s vocals and Mark’s banjo really gave it a more traditional sound.”
